GIFF Online HOW-TO GUIDES!!

GIFF Online will take place AFTER the main in-person festival! Confused or having troubles accessing GIFF Online? We get it! It’s been a challenging couple of years for us too. 1. HOW TO WATCH GIFF ONLINE WITH YOUR PASS!

Please watch this simple video guide!  It covers how to purchase and stream movies on GIFF Online using your digital Pass.

Please Note: Digital Passes are valid from Monday, July 25th at 12:01am CDT until Sunday, August 7th at 11:59pm CDT. Some titles may be geo-blocked to Manitoba. Passes are valid ONE PER HOUSEHOLD. Users found sharing passes with other IP Addresses will have their viewing rights revoked. Passes are *non-refundable*. Please ensure that you have access to high-speed internet, enabling you to enjoy your film-viewing experience without video buffering. For questions regarding your pass or for technical support, please contact boxoffice@gimlifilm.com.



2. HOW TO BUY INDIVIDUAL TICKETS 

PLEASE WATCH THE HOW TO VIDEO WITH A QUICK AND EASY GUIDE!

  • Individual Digital Tickets – $8.99 each
    Anyone across Canada will be able to purchase individual tickets to stream films on GIFF Online.  Our 2022 Film Lineup will be available in late June to browse, and Individual Tickets will be on sale during the two weeks of the online Festival!  Please note that some films may be geo-blocked to Manitoba audiences only, and some may have limited number of individual tickets for purchase. This details and more will be listed in the film descriptions.
    *Individual Tickets will be available for purchase online, July 25 – Aug 7, 2022 on GIFF Online!

HOW TO CREATE YOUR GIFF WATCH LIST

Did you know that you can STAR your favourite films in our film guide, so that you can quickly find your favourite films come Festival time?

Simply go to GIFF’s FILM GUIDE, and make sure you are logged in! If you are not logged in, you will see a “Login” button in the top right of the Film Guide Page. Once you are logged in you can browse all of our films and events, and if you find something you like just hover over the film poster and you will find a little STAR in to top right corner of the poster! Click that star, and this film will be saved to Your Starred Films! You can also STAR a film on the individual film page, after reading the synopsis or watching the trailer! Once the Festival starts, you can view Your Starred Films by going to the Film Guide Page and clicking the little STAR on the far right side of the Search Bar. You can also change the way you view films using the other buttons here.


ROKU – SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

Video to be published to https://gimlifilm.com/how-to-videos/

Go to the Roku Chanel Store

Search for “Eventive” and Add Chanel

Launch Chanel and go to https://watch.eventive.org/tv , Login and enter the Code displayed on the TV

Once linked unlock the film you’d like to watch on your Laptop/PC or mobile device.

Once unlocked you will be able to select the film through the Eventive Chanel on your Roku.

If the content doesn’t display right away hit the “* key” and it will refresh

Enjoy the film!


APPLE TV  – SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

Airplay:

If you wish to airplay from an apple device, you can select the airplay icon and select the corresponding Apple Tv

Eventive App:

First go to the app store on your Apple Tv

Next search for “Eventive” and download the Eventive App

Launch the App and connect your account using the code displayed on the TV and by visiting https://watch.eventive.org/tv Login and enter the Code displayed on the TV

Once linked unlock the film you’d like to watch on your Laptop/PC or mobile device.

Once unlocked you will be able to select the film through the Eventive App on your Apple TV.

Enjoy the film!


CHROMECAST  – SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

How to Cast to a Chromecast or Smart TV MAKE SURE THE CHROMECAST IS ON

Once you’ve selected and started watching your film click on the cast icon in the bottom right corner of the player. (see image below)

Then select the appropriate Chromecast or smart tv from the available options.


FAQ

Q: What is GIFF Online…?

  • GIFF Online is the Netflix style platform, available to passholders and individual ticket buyers
    • You can watch films, pause and/or restart any film during the festival, Wed, July 25th to Sun, Aug 7th.
    • Films are available at anytime, on demand!

Q: I have a pass, but it keeps prompting me to pay for the film

A: Make sure they are logged into Eventive.  Please go to GIFF Online (https://watch.eventive.org/gimlifilm) and click the “Login” button in the top right to login.

Q: The film isn’t loading

A: If the player is opening, the problem is likely your internet connection.  Please check your internet connection.  If you get the error “Secure player can’t open” or any other issues, please contact our Tech Support Hotline ASAP: 204 671-0672

Q: I need help logging in for the first time

A: Visit https://gimlifilm.com/how-to-videos/
