The Festival is in full swing, and we don’t have any plans of slowing down! Here’s a breakdown of what’s going on today (For a list of each film screening click here):
At 10 a.m. we have four different films screenings. Our screening of Before Anything You Say brings viewers into the world of Isobel and Jack who are in love and in Paris. This film examines the two characters relationship as it changes when Jack receives a job offer that could take him away for five years and they have to work through hurt feelings. Director Shelagh Carter will be in attendance at the Festival!
Festival goers are encouraged to attend the 12 p.m. Above The Line workshop with Rebecca Gibson, cost is $10 without a Filmmaker or Super Pass. In the evening we have a 5:30 p.m. FREE Women in View panel with women within the film industry. This is part of our Future is Female* initiative!
This afternoon is our DOC Day Afternoon. Take in retrospectives of classic Manitoba-made short and feature documentaries presented by DOC Manitoba and celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Documentary Organization of Canada. At 12:30 the afternoon picks of with documentary Fat Chance. At 3 pm two films by this years Jack Clements “Livin’ the Dream Award” Elise Swerhone will screen! Then at 5:30 pm take in classic short docs with The Way Things Were.
As well we have our Gimli Commons going on from 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the RBC Beach Boardwalk from 7:30 p.m. till 9:30 p.m. Don’t miss out on free activities, games, the RBC Truck where you can enter win a trip to TIFF, and our GFF merchandise table where you can pick up your raffle tickets before the draw on Saturday. Tonight’s Sunset Screening is a double feature of Dazed and Confused and The Big Lebowski.
