In a special presentation, DOC Manitoba will present the Barry Lank Award to director, Chase Guthro after this special screening!


RBC $10,000 EMERGING FILMMAKER PITCH COMPETITION

10 AM | SAT, JULY 23 | GIMLI THEATRE

Emerging MB-based filmmakers with an idea for a short film are invited to compete for $10,000 courtesy of RBC, in-kind services from William F. White International Inc. and Winnipeg Film Group, and mentorship from the National Screen Institute. Join us Saturday morning as five finalists present their pitches to our jury, organized by On Screen Manitoba.


MANITOBA SHORTS IN COMPETITION

Join us at the Manitoba Shorts in Competition screening for the presentation of two special awards for excellence in Manitoba short filmmaking including:

  • Manitoba Short Film Audience Choice Award

Join us in congratulating Nettie Wild with the festival’s highest honour, in recognition of her incredible work with filmmaking, directing, and producing illustrious documentaries and films on a global scale. 


The Jack Clements “Livin’ The Dream Award” – Lisa Meeches

An annual award in the memory of Jack Clements, presented to a Manitoban for their impact on the local film industry and filmmaking community. This year’s recipient is Eagle Vision’s visionary founder, Lisa Meeches.


ACTRA Awards for Best Female Performer & Best Male Performer
Join ACTRA Manitoba in celebrating our best local actors with these live award announcements honouring two of the year’s best actors!


Indigenous Spirit Award

APTN presents the Indigenous Spirit Award, for outstanding achievement by an Indigenous filmmaker screening at GIFF 2022.  The award will be announced live at our Awards Reception by an APTN representative! 



Best Manitoba Director Award 

This annual award goes to the most deserving Manitoba director screening work at our 2022 Festival.
