It’s the last day of the Gimli Film Festival and we are sad to see it go, but we wouldn’t want to close it out any other way than with a fantastic lineup. Here is what’s happening today:
At 10 am we have a screening of the dark Icelandic comedy Under the Tree at the Gimli Theatre, What Walaa Wants at the Aspire Theatre, and our MTYP Movie Magic Camp & Children’s NFB Films at the Lady of the Lake Theatre.
Following that there is a 12:30 pm screening of Shorts by the Indigenous Filmmakers Association at the Aspire Theatre, Exit Music screens at the Lady of the Lake Theatre, and The Rider screens at the Gimli Theatre.
At 3 pm you can check out a screening of Mankiller at the Aspire Theatre. This film is the story of the first women elected Chief of the Cherokee Nation. As well we have our Rinse & Repeat Shorts playing at the Lady of the Lake Theatre, and Three Identical Strangers playing at the Gimli Theatre!
This evening at 5:30 we have three more films screening. Sweet Country screens at the Aspire Theatre, Miseducation of Cameron Post plays at the Lady of the Lake Theatre, and Transformer, the documentary of former Marine and bodybuilder’s journey as a transgender women transitioning into Janine, screens at the Gimli Theatre.
At 8 pm we have a screening of Cocote in the Aspire Theatre, and a screening of Shirkers in the Lady of the Lake Theatre. We will also be announcing Audience Choice for Best of Fest presented by Outlet Collection Winnipeg, so don’t forget to cast your votes throughout the day!
And to close out the festival we have our RBC Sunset Screening of family comedy, The Great Outdoors, screening on the beach at 10 pm.
