In the middle of nowhere the 645 people of Vopnafjörður village go about their daily lives. Where single individuals carry the responsibility of ensuring and defining the community’s future, the fear of depopulation leaves no one freed from the pressure of protecting the existence of the little village. 690 Vopnafjörður explores the communal tensions that pull people to stay or push them to leave a place like Vopnafjörður, as well as looking at how people’s identity is profoundly linked to the fjord.
