2018 Award Winners!

Congrats to our 2018 Award Winners:

Best of Fest Award

(sponsored by Outlet Collection Winnipeg)

WINNER:  Minding the Gap, dir. Bing Liu

A note from the GFF Programming Committee: “The programming committee decided to award this year’s Best of Fest award to a documentary film that hits on a lot of issues rarely discussed in mainstream society. It’s an impressive story by a young first-time feature filmmaker who – in the process of this film – must confront his friends and his own history in this fascinating portrait of masculinity and violence in middle America.  The exceptional elements of this story are three disparate men from very different backgrounds with a willingness to be emotionally bare and bluntly honest. You get coming of age stories about young men frequently, but never like this.”
